Orthopedic/Injuries>>Home Program for Medial Epicondylitis "Tennis Elbow" - 1/4/2007Home program: Medial epicondylitis 1. Modify activity: a. Non-repetitive, change frequently b. Loosen grip c. Non-sustained grip, change position frequently d. Rest frequently during activity of long duration, even if for only a couple minutes at a time e. See Tennis Elbow Information sheet 2. Stretching: a. During rests b. During exercise c. Anytime you feel muscle fatigue and/or tightness, pain 3. Friction massage: a. With thumb for 5 minutes twice a day, use an oil based lotion if possible 4. Ice: a. Ice cube for 3 minutes 4 times a day or as needed b. Or ice pack for 5-10 minutes as needed 5. Exercise: a. Use sheets issued b. Add 2 pound weight to wrist bends, both ways, 2 times a day for 2 sets of 10-12 6. Gradually add activities without wrist brace, including driving work bus, but keep brace with you for use as needed. |
